The Oscar-nominated screenplay writer is known for his work on Arrival, the remake of The Thing, and Netflix’s own horror sensation, Bird Box. Netflix commissioned the show based on the popular fantasy adventure series in February 2019, along with the news that Eric Heisserer would serve as the original series’ showrunner.
